Gangnam Style
Gangnam Style, released in July 2012, is a K-pop single by the South Korean musician PSY. Gangnam Style became the first online video to record a billion hits on the Internet and it is the site’s most watched video after surpassing Justin Bieber’s single Baby.
The phrase “Gangnam Style” refers to a lifestyle associated with the District Gangnam of Seoul. The song went viral in August 2012 and have influenced popular culture worldwide since then. The song’s refrain “Oppan Gangnam Style”, which means “Big brother is Gangnam style”, was entered into The Yale Book of Quotations as one of the most famous quotes of 2012.
